My Interview with Green Revolution Radio

Last September I did an interview with GreenRevolutionRadio to promote my CD. Here's a transcript, and if you want to check out the source, click here!

------------------------------------------

My debut album, “Ten Songs for Ten Guys” is exactly how it sounds. I wrote Ten songs for Ten guys that have come in and out of my life over the years. Like yourself, I’ve experienced love, heartache, loss, been cheated on, and “accidentally” been the cheatie - not a fun place to be! These feelings are what you will encounter in my songs. What you need to know is that every song on my album is different from the next. My producer and I worked carefully with the musicians to cook up a unique style and sound for each song. The recipe is a dollop of Country roots, a pinch of Rock, a dash of Americana and a whole lot of me. Trust me your ears won’t get bored.

A Brief Story Behind The Song:

Track 1: Do You Feel It Too?

This song is about wanting to be MORE than just friends. A couple summers back I met T.S. who in a couple words “rocked my world”. We became really good friends. Our biggest pastime of the summer was playing “Truth or Dare”. Like the song goes I fell for him, but I never had the guts to ask him if he felt the same. Later, I find out the feeling was mutual but by then we were living in two different states. Word of advice…don’t be a chicken like me. Ask him!

Track 2: Head Over Heels

R.S. is a guy who has had girls lined up around the block for his attention. Yep! I was one of them. For a brief time I had him “Head Over Heels” for me, but a crush can only last so long. I did have fun writing this song about him.

Track 3: Cowboy in Wranglers

It was ladies night at Cactus Moon (local cowboy bar). Brooks and Dunn, “Neon Moon” was playing when C.M. came up to me and asked me to dance. That had been the best night of my life…so far (hehe).

Track 4: Miss Patsy Cline

The fun part about this song is that I included MY favorite Patsy Cline songs in the lyrics: “Walking After Midnight”, “I Fall To Pieces”, “True Love”, “Crazy”, and “He Called Me Baby”. I began writing this song after S.B. and I had broken up. All I did after the break up was listen to Pasty Cline’s “She’s Got You” and press repeat over and over. It’s my ultimate favorite Patsy song and her voice soothed my breakup pain so much. You might be wondering why I didn’t put this song into my lyrics. Well, I was selfish and wanted to keep it for myself.

Track 5: Does She Know?

Yeppers, this is the “cheatie” song. R.T. had a girlfriend while he was seeing me. Bad Boy!!! I’m sure many of you girls can relate to the lyrics in this song.

Track 6: I’ll Be With You

You might have noticed that there are actually eleven tracks on my album. I’m sure that made you wonder about the album title. This song is for D.P. and B.P. These initials represent my grandparents. Several years ago my grandpa passed away and my grandma’s love for him is still strong if not stronger. I wrote this for their love.

Track 7: She Needs (Love Love Love)

Being a girl I am prone to liking material items, but personally I’d rather have affection than presents made of sparkly things. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get that through to B.G.

Track 8: It’s The Way…

Now if you don’t get what I’m referring to in this song then I feel sorry for you (wink wink). All I can say is D.M. !!!!!!

Track 9: You’ll Never Know

S.M. I’ve known since high school. We began dating as freshmen in college. At 19 I really didn’t know or understand what love was. It took a couple years and a few dates later with other guys to realize that at that point in my life I was in love, but I never told him. It sucks we can’t turn back time!

Track 10: Go Insane!

I wrote this song at four in the morning. Revenge is the key element in this song. K.W. had been playing me from the get go. I was just one of several girls he was dating at one time. A mutual friend informed me of his misbehaving, but instead of getting mad I GOT EVEN!

Track 11: Ryan’s Song

Ryan Brunner was the dear friend who passed away. He was an amazing musician and very kind hearted. He is the best person I’ve ever known in my generation. I miss him terribly as do others. He’s the main reason I began writing songs. He is my angel of music.
